So I've been working on a new business that I've wanted to do forever. One of the things I've been doing is making really nice hand made soaps. I started making soap back last September. Well, no one tells you just how MUCH is involved in bringing a retail product from scratch to sale. I have to buy the raw ingredients, make the soap, and that's only HALF of it. Then you have to figure out packaging, labeling, marketing, which means I need photographs and descriptions and and and... so you want to sell it online, great now it takes a web page with an ekwid widget... LOL... OMG!!!!
I love making soap, it just is one of those things that is soulful for me. I love making pictures, I am a pretty creative kind of person, I can write ok...but WOW at all the layers it takes to DO this, its amazing.... and TIME CONSUMING.
I am telling you all this because I have a cute story to tell. I have a Gardener's soap, its great at cleansing and has a little cornmeal in it for exfoliating that dirt off your hands. Its a pretty simple soap. So, I'm trying to figure out how to stage it up nice and pretty to photograph it and reflect it as a good soap for gardeners hands. I figure some small clay pots laid with the bars, and some pretty colorful blooms and it will do. So, I have a big bridal wreath bush blooming at home, blooms to the ground, there's a nice back ground, I'm setting up, grab the camera start snapping....
Here's the first shot.... I'll make ten or more before I decide its working but look in the top right corner... see that little bit of gray? I didn't notice her either... I'm sitting on the ground, leaned on my elbows trying angles, focus etc.... suddenly the bush is rustling, I can't lean back and crab crawl backwards fast enough, THEN ..... the second pic tells the rest of the story. LOL They are such nosy ladies, my lil chickens. Its things like that that gives you MORE gray hair!!! I think she was laughing at me, and I know the others standing around watching were laughing!!! And it probably was pretty funny to see me slam into reverse as ungracefully as I did.
